Our green waste containers

Where does green waste come from?

Major yard clearance? Then you probably have too much green waste for your own green bin from the municipality. Or do you take care of the construction and maintenance of other people's gardens, beds and borders? Then piles of green waste is the order of the day. Puincontainershop helps dispose of green waste with handy green waste dumpsters.

Green waste is also referred to as green and garden waste and falls under the heading of organic waste. This means that the waste is part of some plant, consists of plants or originates from plants.

Green waste

Rent out a dumpster

You can, for instance, dump leaves, grass, hedge clippings, pruning waste, branches and shrubs in the container. But we can also accept tree trunks or tree stumps. A tree stump is the lower part of a tree with the roots still attached. Digging up tree stumps can be a huge amount of work. When you finally get there, you'll want to get rid of this green waste as soon as possible. A good clear up before some beautiful remodeling.

Fruit and vegetables should go in your own compost bin

Vegetable peelings, fruit scraps and other (cooked) food scraps come under organic waste and we do not accept them in the dumpsters. Vegetable and organic waste processing differ slightly. What if these waste streams coincide? Then oils, fats and salts, originally from food waste, disrupt the composting process for green waste. Oil, grease and salt also attract vermin and organic waste starts to smell. Especially at higher temperatures, because decomposition then goes extra fast. Therefore, throw organic waste in your own organic compost bin.

Order a green waste dumpster in three steps

Nothing is as convenient as a deposit container in front of the door. You can immediately dispose of all your green waste and don't lose time driving up and down to the dump. Moreover, our containers take up little space, so the neighbours will not be bothered. In our simple ordering module, you can order a container in just three steps. Choose the desired size and waste flow and then enter your details and the rental period. Don't know when the job will be done? No problem at all. You can also let us know at a later date. Finally, complete the payment and receive a confirmation e-mail with invoice.

Types of container

What size container do you need for your green waste? And will you go for an open-top or fully-closing container? Fully-closing containers can be padlocked shut (padlock not supplied), to prevent anyone else dumping anything into your container. You can choose from a roll-off dumpster measuring:

  • 3m³: ideal for small maintenance jobs
  • 6m³: suitable for a total garden makeover.
  • 10m³ open-top: great choice for large volumes, involving a lot of green waste from pruning, plants and shrubs.
  • 10m³ fully-closing: a container that can be locked shut using padlocks. Has hatches which open at both ends. Suitable for larger volumes.

Puincontainershop has the right container for all your needs. Still finding it tricky, choosing between the various container types? Feel free to get in touch. We're happy to help you choose the most suitable container!

What you can count on from Puincontainershop

Puincontainershop drops the container off on the agreed date. Once you're all done, we will remove the container without any fuss and have the green waste processed using sustainable methods.

Got an urgent job on, or forgot to arrange a dumpster? No worries. If you order before 5 pm, we'll drop off a dumpster the next working day. We also deliver anywhere in the Netherlands (except the Frisian Islands) and at low all-in rates. Dumpster price includes the following: dropping off the wood dumpster, up to 8 weeks' rental, taking the container away again and processing your waste. Browse our rates here.

What can go in the green waste dumpsters?

Puincontainershop drops the container off on the agreed date. Once you're all done, we will remove the container without any fuss and have the green waste processed using sustainable methods.

To avoid confusion, we have drawn up lists of what can and cannot go into a green waste dumpster. For example, all types of untreated wood waste are allowed. But no wood which has been painted or stained, because this affects processing. Do you have a lot of treated wood such as garden gates, fences, wooden doors or frames? Then rent out a separate wood waste container. If in doubt about the waste to be disposed of, get in touch with us before you arrange for the container collected.

Allowed

  • Snoeihout (takken en stammen, diameter < 20cm)
  • Flowers. leaves and grass
  • Hedge clippings
  • Plants and shrubs with sand/soil attached
  • Wood chips (from fresh wood)
  • Tree bark
  • Tree trunks and tree stumps

Not allowed

  • Non-native plant species (eg. Japanese knotweed and giant hogweed)
  • Peelings/leftovers from vegetables, fruit and cooked food
  • Contaminated or large quantities of soil/sand
  • Manure or fertilizers
  • Treated or impregnated wood
  • Trees/branches with fungus growing
  • Construction and demolition waste
  • Stones
  • General waste
  • Paper/cardboard
  • Plastic packaging waste
  • Hazardous waste

Be careful with non-native plant species!

Non-native plant species are not natural to the Netherlands. If they do end up here through human activity, their natural enemies are missing. They can then easily spread out of control. We call these invasive species. Well-known examples are Japanese knotweed, which even breaks through asphalt, and the Giant Hogweed, which can cause painful burns. You can read more about these problem plants on the Wageningen University website. It should come as no surprise that non-native plant species are not allowed in the green waste dumpster. Small quantities of these types of plants may be disposed of in the general trash, but consult a specialist for larger quantities.

The benefits of sorting and separating

Green waste is an excellent waste stream for reuse. Hence why it is a good idea to sort your waste using a green waste container. Keep the waste stream pure. That is to say: don't throw waste materials into the container that don't belong there. Because only properly separated waste streams can be recycled. Puincontainershop makes sure your green waste is processed in the most environmentally friendly way into raw materials for new products. By recycling we save on fossil raw materials and energy. So a win-win situation for the environment.

Processing green waste

First, your waste is transported to our sister company Recycling Diemen. There, they sort through the waste. They put very bulky items of green waste to one side, such as tree trunks and pallets. This makes a great raw material for the paper or chipboard industry. Once the sorting crate is full, it goes off altogether to a processor. There, they shred the green waste into wood chips. Mass that is not suitable for this is turned into compost. Wood chips are used as a raw material in gardens or as biomass in biomass plants for generating energy. Compost is used as a soil improver, as a fertile raw material in agriculture and horticulture or as a raw material in gardens.

The fact that I was able to deviate from the standard in terms of delivery and everything went fine deserves praise.

Puincontainershop apparently uses veschillende debris container companies to do the jobs. But it worked fine in our case.
